Mixed flow pumps

267401Flygt's L series of pumps is designed primarily for pumping raw water, screened waste water, and storm water at medium heads - i.e., 10 to 20 meters.

L-pumps are preferable to centrifugal C-pumps when larger volumes are to be pumped or when a more economical installation is required.

The pumps in this series have capacities ranging from 200 to 2,000 liters per second.

For application in explosive environments, L series pumps can be supplied in EX-approved (explosion proof) versions.

Design

16562Monitoring equipment
All these pumps have temperature sensors in their windings and main bearings. Should liquid penetrate a pump's stator housing, a float-switch sensor positioned below the bearings and the stator-end coils will shut the pump down. Additional monitoring functions can be installed.

Approvals
All the pumps are approved in accordance with national and international standards (IEC 34-1, CSA). They are also available in explosion proof versions: Factory Mutual (FM) and European Norm(EN).

Corrosion protection
For corrosive applications, all these pumps can be equipped with zinc anodes, extra corrosion-resistant outer seal, epoxy coating, and stainless shaft and impeller.

Motor
Squirrel cage, high-performance, induction motor, specially designed for submersible applications and manufactured by Flygt.

Bearings
Designed with one roller bearing and one or two angular-contact ball bearings.

Seals
Two sets of mechanical shaft-seals that work independently for double security. Designed, patented, and manufactured by Flygt.

Oil housing
In addition to lubricating the seals, the oil-filled compartment dissipates heat from the motor and bearing. The housing also provides additional safety against penetration by liquids.

Wear rings
Easily replaced wear rings help maintain high pumping efficiency.

Performance Field

Hydraulic section L

L_bigThe L-pump impeller is a shrouded channel impeller in a volute with guide vanes. The guide-vane section leads the rotating water outward and upward on the outside of the pump. L-pumps are used in sewage-treatment plants as well as storm-water pumping, irrigation and drainage.L_curve
